When I first started pottery, I didn't have a lot of fancy equipment. I made pottery with just a craft table and I made tiny things out of air-dry clay. My parents thought I had some talent, so they signed me up for pottery lessons.

Instantly, I knew it was my passion and really enjoyed what I learned there. But after a couple months, my teacher moved to a different state, and I was on my own.

A little after that, about 5 years ago, I got a wheel for my birthday and at that same time, someone else let me use their kiln. There is where I learned the tiny details of ceramics, making sure I added my own twist to every piece I make.

Since then, I've been teaching myself through lots of trial and error, but I make sure sure I improve every time. I love every step of the process and it's my biggest hobby to make things that are not only functional but beautiful and fun to look at.

I chose the name "Zoe Ceramics" because the word Zoe/ζωή means "life" in Greek. There is also a verse in the Bible that says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." (John 10:10)

This is Jesus speaking to the people about the eternal life that comes only through believing that He alone is Lord. I picked that name for my ceramics because this is an expression of life for me. I am so thankful to live in the goodness of the Lord and the talents He has gifted me.

I spend a lot of time in my studio making pottery for you guys. But when I'm not there, I like to rock climb and travel to the mountains for hiking and backpacking. But you might find me doing other things like playing (or coaching) soccer, playing guitar, riding horses, or playing pickleball any random day of the week :)

I hope you enjoy using these pieces as much as I enjoyed making them! If you want to try it out for yourself, click the link below and we can start your pottery journey today!
